Earlene Alexander (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Earlene Joy Young Alexander was born in Cavalier, North Dakota on January 9th, 1941 to Earl Alvin and Ouida Mildred Walters Young during a blizzard. Her father walked through the blizzard to town, holding on to a fence, to get the doctor, and like her father, Earlene courageously, with grace, walked through many challenges in her life for family and friends. She showered her loved ones with love and kindness with a burning passion. Earlene departed this world in a blizzard of sadness on October 15th, 2021 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Earlene found our Lord Jesus Christ while watching Billy Graham on TV, in the tiny town of Phillipsburg, Missouri. She met her husband John Sanders Alexander while in Conway high school. Earlene and John shared 63 years together and had 4 children. She often said, "All I wanted was four kids, two girls and two boys and God gave them to me".
Earlene was an exceptional cook. She enjoyed sewing and creating with her hands. She was a voracious reader. She enjoyed gardening and planting trees and was especially fond of roses, dogwoods and blueberries.
Earlene's joy was never more present than when she was with her grand and great-grand children. Her love for her family was always visible in her trademark smile.
Earlene was preceded in death by her father Earl, mother Ouida, and brother Larry Young. She is survived by her husband John, sisters Ruth Wilhite and Delores Spencer and a brother Duane Young. Also her daughters Diana Jean Dobbins (Jerry), and Karen Sue Pettit (Mike), and sons John Allen Alexander and Phillip Earl Alexander (Melinda), 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Earlene will be from 12:00 to 1:00, with services following at Butler Funeral Home, Bolivar, Missouri. Burial will follow at Conway Cemetery, Conway, Missouri.
