Earline Lansdown (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Elata Earline Lansdown, daughter of John and Pearl Housh Clark, was born December 25, 1947, in Hiawatha, Kansas, and departed this life on May 25, 2013, in her home near Fordland, Missouri at the age of sixty-five years and five months.
Earline was united in marriage to Ralph Cheek in 1963 and to this union three children, Stoney, Richard and Norma were born. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Harold Paul Lansdown and to this union four children, John, Diane, Joyce and Loretta, were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; grandson, Joshua Spangler; infant granddaughter, Kristin Leann Cheek; three brothers, John, Marvin and Eugene Clark; one sister, Mary Jane Hartley; a step-daughter, Naomi Matney Coffman; and two step-grandsons, Brandon and Joseph Lansdown.
Earline is survived by three sons, Stoney Cheek of Springfield, Missouri, Richard Hall and his wife, Tracy of League City, Texas, and John Lansdown of Fordland, Missouri; four daughters, Norma Davenport and her companion Brad Campbell of Norwood, Missouri, Diane Decker and her husband Marty of Springfield, Missouri, Joyce Felix of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Loretta McCannon and her companion Robert Sturdivant of Norwood, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella May Davidson of Wichita, Kansas, Shirley Brook of Sacramento, California, and Rose Chance of Los Angeles, California; three step-sons, Russell Lansdown and his wife, Missy, and Roger Lansdown all of Mansfield, Missouri, and Steve Lansdown of Ava, Missouri; a step-daughter, Dorothy Owens and her husband Jesse of Paris, Texas; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Earline also considered Jason Coffman and Richard Felix as her sons and Lisa Shanks, her home health aide, was very special to her as well.
She was born in Kansas and lived there until moving to Missouri in 1971 when she married Harold. She was a homemaker and had also worked for many years at Bill’s Dollar Store and Casey’s General Store both in Mansfield.
Earline had attended the Church of Christ when her health permitted.
She loved to listen to Elvis and watch John Wayne movies. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, riding horses and caring for her dog “Peanut”.
Earline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the many memories we had with her.
