Earshel Lee Bays (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Earshel Lee Bays, 80 of Bolivar MO., passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Citizen Memorial Health Care Facility in Bolivar.
Earshel was born April 8, 1936, in Polk County Missouri, to Jesse and Carrie Dorman Bays.
Earshel and his wife, Carolyn Rea Campbell Bays, moved from Canoga Park, CA. in 1972 with their two daughters: Cari Lea and Carolyn Rea.
Earshel was an entrepreneur having ran several businesses over his career including: 11 Ram's Barber Shops in the San Fernando Valley CA. area, Bays Bait and Tackle in Polk, MO., Bays Bait and Beverage in Aldrich, MO., and Bays Sales that specialized in carpet, western boots and real estate.
He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Huron, MO. Earshel and Carolyn loved to entertain and cook exotic meals. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he could play a mean card game of Pitch. He loved to travel, they were known to keep their bags packed by the front door just in case one of their out-of-town friends called with an invitation to dinner or they learned of a slot tournament in Las Vegas, NV.
Earshel was the last of the litter and is proceeded in death by parents; beloved wife of 50 years; Carolyn, his sisters Annie Fitze, Nellie Roberts, Florance Bower and Effie Frazier, his brothers Glen, Charlie, Clarence, Richard and three stillborns.
Survivors include his two daughters, Cari Vega and her husband Richard of Bedford TX, Carolyn Wilson and her husband Darrell of Halfway MO., stepchildren Lorne Blanck and Lorene Owens and 38 nieces and nephews.
His grandchildren; Mitchell and Alyson Vega, Marcus, Kristopher and Steven Wilson and five great grandchildren. A graveside celebration will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Green Wood Cemetery in Bolivar MO. Family and friends are invited to attend.
