Edith Delores Potter's Obituary
Edith Delores Potter, daughter of Chancey Sherman and Irene (Miles) Brown was born April 6, 1927 in Fleming, Colorado. She departed this life Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, six months, and five days. On August 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Alvin Roy Potter, and to this union three sons and two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin on July 17, 1990; a daughter, Diana Marie Potter; and three brothers, Melvin, Marvin, and Wilbert Brown. Delores is survived by three sons, Frank Potter and his wife, Frances, of Henrietta, Texas, Ed Potter and his wife, Brenda, of Springfield, Missouri, and Steve Potter and his wife, Judy, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one daughter, Cindy Robinson and her husband, Buzz, of Niangua, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Frank Potter II, Rhonda Willbanks, Lisa Owens, Amanda Robinson, Lindy Sturdefant, Victoria Robinson, Ethan Robinson, Lorie Plaster, and Tim Plaster; fourteen great-grandchildren; five brothers, Keith Brown, of Denver, Colorado, Richard Brown, of Laramie, Wyoming, Rahlon Brown, of The Dalles, Oregon, Kenneth Brown, of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Alvin Brown, of Mitchell, South Dakota; one sister, Marlene Edwards, of St. George, Utah; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. Delores was born in Colorado and lived there until moving to Missouri in l960. The family lived on a farm near Ava in the community of Goodhope, and then moved to Seymour in l969 to make their home. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, she also worked at Emerson Electric in Ava for many years. She had made her profession of faith in God and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In her spare time she enjoyed taking long walks outdoors and gardening. She was an excellent cook and was known for her delicious cinnamon rolls, banana cream and coconut cream pies. She loved spending time with her family and had a special love for all her grandchildren. Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories that she has created for her family and many friends. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday October 14, 2008 at Holman- Howe funeral home Seymour. Burial will be in the Goodhope cemetery in Goodhope, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday evening 7-8:00 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
