Mrs. Royal was one in a million. There is not another person who has cared and shaped the lives of her students like Mrs. Royal.
Deepest sympathy for your loss. I hope you find comfort in all of your memories and the amazing stories you will hear about her...she was a true HERO to so many students.
Edith Royal. A name I will never forget. I am a staff member where Edith spent her final days. I had almost a full year with her, i know not as long as most. Edith made my day, every single day i would go to her room to visit her, she always had a smile on her face and a warm hello from her heart. We always shared a giggle when i would ask her to sing after lunch. I loved hearing her voice and my absolute favorite memory of her is when we sang amazing grace together the first time. She will always hold a special place. Rest in peace Edith. Amazing grace. Prayers to the family.

Ms. Royal was a special person and cared about all of us students. I always looked forward to her class everyday. I thank God for the opportunity of being a student of Mrs. Edith Royal it was a true educational experience. Rest in eternal peace Ms. Royal.
I came to know Mrs. Royal in her later teaching career, when I was Minister of Education and she was teaching the Builders class. I admired her grace and patience. In all our interactions, one thing was obvious: She had class -- in every way.
She was a blessing to so many. Thank you to her family for sharing her.
May perpetual light shine upon her, O Lord. And may You grant Your peace to her family.
My contemporary Issues teacher in 1973. Would have been totally ignorant as to what was going on in the world had it not been for Mrs. Royal. Definitely a class act in the teaching world.
Sunday, October 3, 2021 marked the passing of my beloved friend, Edith Royal. She was my teacher, friend, and confident for greater than 40 years. She enjoyed bawdy jokes, the color blue, good gossip, and would privately promote the merits of an afternoon TAB cola and glazed donut. Edith, aka “D” always practiced her strong faith, loved her family immensely, and supported so very many students and friends throughout her distinctive life. For many this is a time of rest, but for my D, I am confident she is now rising with renewed strength. I can even imagine she is probably already discussing contemporary issues and world history with non-other than the Almighty. So, have a wonderful new journey my beautiful friend and know you are so greatly missed. Hope
She was my supervising teacher when I did student teaching in the 1970s. She held me to very high standards telling me that "young people would be looking to me as an example and would emulate me." She told me to always present myself as a professional (speech, dress, etc.) if I wanted the respect of a professional.
I learned so much from her.
She would tell me wonderful stories of her childhood and youth-I loved it.
She always remembered me when I would see her out over the years.
She was a treasure. For a moment in time-she was a great influence on my life and I am glad for it!
Praying for your family.
The Lord is always with you in His goodness--"We are made partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end." Hebrews 3:14
