Edith Swigert (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Edith May Swigert, daughter of the late Sida H. and Julia Ann (Cole) Havice, was born on May 30, 1926 in Rexford, Kansas, and departed this life on July 15, 2018 at Hermitage Nursing and Rehab. At the time of her passing she was 92 years, 1 month, and 15 days of age.
Edith was reared and attended school in London Smoke and Windyville, MO. After her schooling, she was united in marriage to George Iven Swigert. She loved being a homemaker and taking care of her children while they were growing. She enjoyed gardening, canning, making quilts, and working around the farm. After raising her children, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Chastain’s Nursing Home in Buffalo, MO. She was a member of the Dallas county Community Church and had donated the land for them to build the Church. She moved to Urbana, MO where she attended the Urbana First Baptist Church and made many new friends. In her later years she still enjoyed helping on the farm taking care of and watching the baby goats.
