Edmond Sailly (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Edmond Sailly, son of Eugene Florentz and Sophia Julia Duhamel Sailly, was born December 19, 1935, in Johnson City, Illinois. He departed this life Monday, January 27, 2014, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, one month, and eight days.
On May 10, 1991, he was united in marriage to Florene “Ree” Myers, and they shared twenty-two years, before her passing on September 24, 2013.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Evelyn Sellers.
Edmond is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Murry, and her husband, John, of Camdenton, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Ronda Mitchell, and her husband, Neil, of Columbia, Missouri, and Bobbi Lightbody, of the State of Kansas; two stepsons, Jeff Decker, and his wife, Theda, and Joseph Decker, and his fiancée, Rhonda Langston, all of Lebanon, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, William, Mary Beth, Matthew, Chris, Tony, David, Katie, Jennifer, Matthew, Kaitlin, and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Lilli, Madelyn, Brianna, Dakota, and Carson; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Johnson City, Illinois, where he graduated from high school. He then attended Devry University where he earned his degree as an electrical design engineer. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from November 20, 1959, until February 21, 1962, and was awarded the sharpshooter medal among other medals of which he was very proud. He began working for D & C Electrical in Chicago, Illinois, and followed that company to Camdenton, Missouri, when they opened a plant there. During his years with D & C, he received many commendations for his electrical design work. Eventually, Edmond retired to Lebanon, Missouri.
He had a keen interest in ham radios and enjoyed building them in his spare time. He also liked fishing, and watching westerns on television. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edmond was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will remember him as a devoted family man, a dedicated, hard worker, a patriotic citizen, and a good friend to many.
