Edna Adair (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Georgia Edna Adair, daughter of George Edgar and Lillie Lenora Prescott Mizer, was born December 5, 1921, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-six years, three months, and eight days.
On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Oras Lee Adair, and they shared forty-one years together before his passing on May 19, 1976.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Bernal Adair; a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Sylvia Mizer; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith and John Fulbright, and Lenora and Junior Tennison.
Edna is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, Larry Tennison, and his wife, Janice, of Finley, Ohio, Ben Tennison, and his wife, Neta, of Marshfield, Missouri, Marcia Tennison, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Laurel Webb, Wanda Tyre, and her husband, Greg, Judy Taylor, and her husband, Bob, Patsy Curl, and her husband, Bob, Kate Raef, and her husband, Kent, and David Tennison, and his wife, Jacquie, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; a caregiver, Sharon Logan; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon community and graduated from Lebanon High School. After she and Oras were married, they made their home on their farm near Lebanon, and Edna was a devoted homemaker to her husband. She loved life on the farm and enjoyed raising turkeys and hogs. She began working for the Lebanon R-III Schools, starting as a cook in the field house. She then became the custodian at Hillcrest Elementary School, where she served for nearly twenty years. She enjoyed her work at the school and the children loved her. She later made her home in Lebanon.
Edna had made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church. She was involved in many areas of church work including the Second Milers group. She centered her life around her church and greatly enjoyed the fellowship her church family offered her.
In her spare time she enjoyed making quilts and doing embroidery work. Her family was very dear to her and she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She also was very fond of her pet collie, “Sandy”. She was known for her sweet tooth and particularly enjoyed her Little Debbie treats each day.
Edna was a loving aunt, great-aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-six years.
