Edna I. Henson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Edna Irene Henson, daughter of Henry and Etta Bench Elmore, was born February 7, 1930, near Oakland, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, March 5, 2012, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, and twenty-eight days.
On April 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Henry Chuckullock, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1986.
On May 23, 1986, she was united in marriage to Carl Henson. They were divorced in 1994, but remained friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Emmit, Edward, Wayne, Gordon, and Charles Elmore; and two sisters, Emma Martin and Edith Faye Robertson.
Edna is survived by a sister, Effie Henson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Bennie Elmore, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Oakland community, near Lebanon, Missouri, and then moved with her family to St. Louis after her father’s passing.
Once she and Henry were married, they made their home in St. Louis, where in addition to being a devoted homemaker, Edna also managed a dry cleaners for forty years. In the middle of the 1980’s, Edna retired and moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
Edna joined the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church and was baptized by Reverend Craig Perry.
In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where her favorite activities were fishing and camping. She also liked playing cards.
Edna was a loving sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
