Edna Marie Johnson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Edna Marie (Mills) Johnson, 92 of Fair Play, MO. was received by the Lord in Stockton, MO on March 27, 2025.
She was born in Asheville, NC on June 25, 1932, to Herman Mills and Myrtle Marie (Hill) Williams. She grew up in Asheville and graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School. On April 16, 1951, she married Dale William Johnson of Fair Play, MO. who was in the Air Force, in Greenville, SC. To this union were born Lynn, Mike, Karen and Sheila. They were an active military family living in England, Germany, and in several different states across the United Sates before retiring to Fair Play, MO in 1971. She was active as a Cub Scout Den mother, Girl Scout Leader, Avon representative and military family assistance. She worked in a book bindery in Topeka, KS, Hagale's and Keys in Stockton, MO before retiring. She was a member of the Bethel Community Church, Madison Township, Fair Play, MO.
In retirement she and Dale enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, playing cards, genealogy and spending time with family, especially grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, brother Victor Darrell Williams, sister Renith (Williams) Chancey and grandson Ryan Sipes. She is survived by her children Lynn (Johnson) Sipes of Topeka, KS, Mike Johnson of Orcas Island, WA. Karen (Johnson) Watson of Bolivar, MO, Sheila (Johnson) Griggs of Stockton, MO, sister Tanya (Williams) Shores of Savannah, GA and brother Corwin Williams (Debby) of Candler, NC.
Edna has seven surviving grandchildren Jeremiah Johnson, Shelly Sipes, Kimberly (Pyle) Woodcock (Tim), Kristin (Pyle) Wolf, Michael Griggs (Jesi), Megan (Griggs) Blakesley (Mike), Melena (Griggs) Gentry (Dylan), 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, making five living generations. The Services for Edna will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Tuesday April 1, 2025, at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Bethel Cemetery near Fair Play, MO.
