Edna Kelsey's Obituary
Edna Mae Kelsey, daughter of Joe L. and Nola E. Roberts Gann, was born December 14, 1911, near Palace, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, June 20, 2011, in Northridge Place, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-nine years, six months, and six days.
On July 20, 1931, she was united in marriage to Roy P. Kelsey, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy, on November 7, 1971; a brother, William Gann; and two sisters, Iva Hildebrand, and Myrtle Anderson.
Edna is survived by a daughter, Ruth Lambeth, and her husband, Dewey, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Faith Husmann, and her husband, Greg, Dennis Lambeth, and his wife, Judy, Patrick Lambeth, and his wife, Jen, and Nevelyn Pruitt, and her husband, Stan; ten great-grandchildren, Steven, Jason, Samantha, Robert, Scott, Danae? Justin, Tiffany, Paul, and Chevy; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Flo Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived her early years in the Palace, Missouri community. After she and Roy were married, they made their home in the Hazelgreen area, and raised their daughter. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Edna worked in civil service as a waitress, and was an accomplished seamstress. In her later years, she moved to the Lebanon area.
Edna had professed her faith in Christ at an early age, and was a member of Independence Baptist Church, near Hazelgreen, Missouri, for over sixty years.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, and visiting with her neighbors. Her family was always central in her life, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for them.
Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
