Edna M. Leighty (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Edna M. Leighty was born August 24, 1946 in Mississippi to Floyd and Edna L. Gooch. She departed this life Sunday, January 12, 2025 in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab at the age of seventy-eight years, four months and twenty days.
Edna was raised in St. Louis and moved to Lebanon in the 1970’s. She was married to John Donald Leighty and to this union, eight children were born. Edna was a good mother and enjoyed her title as homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Edna; her husband John in 2002; her daughters, Tammy Canell and Brenda Rogers; her son Danny Housman; her brothers James, Bobby and J.L. Gooch; and her sisters, Barb Goring and Ruby Willis.
She is survived by her daughters, Gina Odorizzi, Sherry Odorizzi, Ronda Depre and Christal Thomas, all of Lebanon, Missouri; her son, Bobby Harper, Jr. of Lebanon, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Edna enjoyed going fishing, playing Bingo and supporting yard sales. She will be remembered for being steadfast and stubborn and set in her ways. There was never any question as to what Edna thought about any given situation.
Above all, Edna loved her family. Her passing leaves a great void in the family, but the memories she made with them will be cherished for years to come.
Funeral service for Edna Leighty will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park.
A memorial to Claws and Paws has been established and donations may be left the funeral home.
