Edna Mason's Obituary
Edna Irene “Annie” Mason, daughter of William Pleasant and Lucy Mae (Bagsby) Cantrell, was born May 30, 1920, near Seymour, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, July 29, 2008, in Glenwood Healthcare, in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, one month and twenty-nine days. On May 28, 1946 she was united in marriage to Raymond Clarence Mason and to this union one son and four daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, on January 3, 1999; her parents; a son-in-law, Toney Cantrell; two grandchildren; five brothers; and four sisters. Annie is survived by a son, Keith Mason, and his wife, Darlene, of Seymour, Missouri; four daughters, Glenda Cantrell, of Marshfield, Missouri, Pat Hood, and her husband, Frank, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Carol Miller, and her husband, Eddie, and Barbara Dalton, and her husband, Tom, all of Seymour, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Zella Haynes, of Seymour, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. She was born and raised in the Seymour area. After she and Raymond were married they moved to a farm east of Seymour and lovingly raised their family. Besides being a devoted homemaker, she also helped Raymond with the farm, raising chickens and milking cows. Annie had made a profession of belief in Christ and was of Pentecostal faith. In her spare time she loved cooking and sewing for her family, and enjoyed gardening. Annie was a kind person with a big heart. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday August 1, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Seymour. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening 7-8:00 pm under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Memorial donations to the Liberty Cemetery may be made through the funeral home.
