Edward Cook's Obituary
Edward Vernon Cook, Sr., son of Hubert Martin and Audrey Mae Nelson Cook, was born June 12, 1943, near Competition, Missouri. He departed this life on Friday, December 21, 2007 in his home in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, six months, and nine days. On June 29, 1985, he was united to Mary A. Lentz Ringer and together they have spent the last twenty-two years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Delmar and an infant, Marvin Cook. Edward is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; four sons, Eddie Cook, Jr. of Eldridge, Missouri, Eric Cook, and his wife, Debi, of Camdenton, Missouri, Bill Ringer, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Tim Ringer, and his wife, Carmen, of Wildomar, California; three grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Palfreyman, and her husband, Butch, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Edward was born and raised near the Competition area and was a graduate of the Lebanon High School class of 1961. He had been employed by the U.S. Civil Service, in Fort Leonard Wood, as Supervisor of the military finance department retiring in 1993. Edward had made his profession of faith and attended the Oakland Heritage Church of God Church. As a boy, he liked to play baseball and to roller-skate. He loved fishing and camping, especially taking the children when they were young. Edward was also a follower of stock-car racing. He took great pride in his home and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories that he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park.
