Edward Eugene West (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Edward Eugene West, son of Howard and Loie Rollins West, was born April 1, 1939, near Brice, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, two months, and thirteen days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wives, including Dottie Jean Ulrich West; and a brother, Joe West.
Edward is survived by a son, Michael West, and his wife, Kathy, of Bolivar, Missouri; a number of grandchildren, including Ryan, Rachel, Elizabeth, Duane, Sara, Katie, Seth, and Leah; a number of great-grandchildren, including Kyle, Allyson, Trey, Klarissa, Kaleb, and Kylie; a brother, Ronald West, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Beverly Stovall, of Independence, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area and in California. He entered the military as a young man, and served his country faithfully in the United States Navy. He lived most of his adult years in Lebanon and in Bolivar, Missouri, and worked as a truck driver for many years.
Ed had attended Pentecostal Churches in Eldridge and the Lebanon area. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help others.
He was a member of the Christian Truckers Association. He enjoyed assembling model airplanes and ships, and was a big movie buff. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ed was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
