Edward William Mason IV, son of Edward William Mason III and Patricia G. Smith, was born October 11, 1958 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He departed this life Monday, October 29, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years and eighteen days.
Bill was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gladys Hixon Fazenbaker; paternal grandparents, Edward William Mason Jr., and Edith Mason
He is survived by his wife Elke, of the home; mother Patricia Smith and husband Keith of East Millsboro, Pennsylvania, father Edward William Mason III and wife Pam of Jonesboro, Arkansas; children Jennifer Mahuiki of Lebanon, Missouri, Christopher Mahuiki of Hartville, Missouri; grandson Ryland Lane Mahuiki; brother Joseph Anthony of Lemont, Pennsylvania; sister Michelle Malone and husband Donnie of Jefferson, Georgia; step-sister Michelle Neff and husband Doug of Weatherford, Texas; step brother Jason Sager and wife Stephanie of Weatherford, Texas; his co-worker and friend, Mary; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Bill was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Laurel Highlands High School in the Class of 1976.
He drove was an over the road truck driver for Swift Trucking for many years, earning numerous awards for his safe driving.
Bill was baptized into the Methodist faith as an infant.
Bill enjoyed fishing with his grandson, watching TV, and living life to its fullest every day.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
