Edward Patten's Obituary
Edward Henry Patten, son of Henry Oliver and Bertha A. May Patten, was born July 31, 1920, in Pekin, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday, December 4, 2008, in Webco Manor, in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, four months, and three days. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Everett, Walter, Fred, and Eugene; and a sister, Betty. Edward is survived by two brothers, John Patten, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Bob Patten, and his wife, Diana, of Marshfield, Missouri; three sisters, Ruth Patten, and Dorothy Patten, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Frances Perryman, and her husband, Otto, of Grovespring, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; a number of cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Pekin, Illinois, and then moved to Lebanon, Missouri in the 1950’s. He worked for Independent Stave Company in Lebanon and also operated a lawn care business for many years. Edward had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Northview, Missouri for forty-three years. He greatly enjoyed going to church and the fellowship it offered him. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his garden and growing beautiful flowers. He also liked collecting watches and listening to gospel music. His family was very important to him and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters. Edward will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Servcies will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday December 8, 2008 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in hte Little Vine Cemetery . Visitation is Sunday afternoon 5-6:30 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
