Edwin Ralph Meagher, Jr. (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Edwin Ralph Meagher, Jr. was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Edwin and Helen Meagher on October 7, 1940. Later his family moved to California.
Edwin (Ed) is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dayle; four children, Ken (Becky) Meagher, Richard (Lisa) Meagher, Valerie (Sean) Sullivan and Debra (Marc) Honles; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Ed was drafted into the army in 1963 and served until 1965. He was very proud to serve his country. After serving in the military, Ed joined Lockheed Martin. He spent 41 years at Lockheed Martin. When he finished his employment, he embraced retirement with enthusiasm.
Ed was best known for his sense of humor and political views. He loved meeting new people when he would go to a restaurant. He would talk to everyone on the way to his table. He never met a stranger.
He had a love for trains and an elaborate train room to display his cities, villages and water towers to run and display the Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Rock Island plus numerous other trains to run along the tracks.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 9:30 A.M. with services following at 10:30 AM at the Humansville Christian Church. Burial will take place at 1 PM in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
