Efton Campbell (Bolivar) 's Obituary
Efton Campbell, age 91, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility, in Bolivar.
Efton was born on October 22, 1926, in Elkton, Missouri, to Clyde and Martha Mildred (Williams) Campbell. He grew up in the area, and then served in the Navy during WWII, until the war ended. After returning home he married Helen Louise Mann at the Rondo Missionary Baptist Church.
Together, at 21 years old, they bought a farm near Rondo, Missouri, where they lived for 61 years, until they sold, and moved to Bolivar, in 2009. He always stayed close to home, saying he had done enough traveling during his time in the Navy.
On the farm he not only had crops, but also milked cows, and later in life became a cattleman. Efton also raised coon dogs. He took great joy in his dogs, and loved to go out hunting with them. Towards the end of his life, it was said all he dreamed about was cattle and coon dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Martha Mildred; a sister, Vauda Bland; two brothers, Kenneth Dale Campbell, and Billy Eugene Campbell; and the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Helen.
Survivors include six children, Collin Keith Campbell, and his wife Sarah, Daniel Lee Campbell, David Michael Campbell, and his wife Lanora, Donna Jeanne Polly, Larry Efton Campbell, and Paul Ray Campbell, and his wife Lori; nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren;brother, Bernie Campbell; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
in Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rondo Cemetery, 4325 S. 97th Rd, Bolivar, MO 65613.
