Eldon Warren (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Eldon Grandville Warren passed away January 17, 2012 at the age of 88. He was born March 10, 1923 in Polk, Missouri to Oscar Warren and Golden (Storment) Warren and lived his entire life in the Polk area, the heartland of Polk County. He went to school at Polk, Greenmound and Goodson High School. Sixty years later he graduated as an honorary graduate from Halfway High School. After serving in WWII, Eldon and Virginia (Anderson) were married on September 11, 1949. Eldon attended Bolivar United Methodist Church along with Virginia for their entire 63 years of marriage.
Eldon loved his family very much. He also loved his farm which he enjoyed clearing the land and making improvements which made the farm productive and beautiful. His pride and joy was the Charolais cattle which grew under his care and sold for top dollar at the cattle auction. Along with caring for the farm, Eldon served on the Soil & Water Board for Polk County for 35 years and the ASCS Office for eleven years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Oscar and Golden Warren, a sister; Jewell and her husband Don Ottens of Kansas City, Missouri, a sister; Vanbuna Warren and brother; Norris Warren both of Polk, Missouri, a brother; Nelson Warren and his wife Jerry of Bolivar, Missouri, a sister-in-law; Lucille Warren of Perry, Kansas, a brother-in-law; Ray Schaub of Kansas City, Missouri, several nieces, nephews and good friends.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Virginia, a son; Rex and his wife Diane of Polk, Missouri, a daughter; Vanetta and her husband Frank Robertson of Willard, Missouri, and a daughter; Cynthia and her husband Bill Wood of Weaubleau, Missouri. Seven grandchildren; Justin Warren and his wife Jolene of Polk, Missouri, Emily (Warren) McGlone and her husband Chris of Bolivar, Missouri, Sheldon Robertson and his wife Kayla of Golden, Missouri, Albert Robertson of Willard, Missouri, Travis Robertson and his wife Amanda of North Glenn, Colorado, Josh Wood and his wife Tasha of Weaubleau, Missouri and Amanda Wood of Kansas City, Missouri. Fourteen great grandchildren; Mattracea, Katelynn and Logan Warren, AnnaMarie, Briahnna, Devan and Marcus McGlone, Madison and Michele Robertson, Marshal and Uriah Robertson, Hunter and Colton Robertson, and Brynlee Wood. Also surviving is a sister; Chloada (Warren) Schaub, 92 years old, living in Bonham, Texas, a brother; Arnol Warren of Perry, Kansas, a brother; Arbie Warren and his wife Dee of Kansas City, Kansas, a sister; Delma and her husband Clarance Hembree of Kansas City, Kansas. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved farm friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday evening, January 19, 2012 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday morning, January 20, 2012 at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J.C. Harp and Elder Bill Wood officiating. Musical selections will be “Going Home” and "Be Still And Know" sung by Jodi Meadows with Carol Krueger playing the piano with the congregational hymn of “Amazing Grace”. Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery in Polk, Missouri with Full Military Honors provided by AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Justin Warren, Emily McGlone, Sheldon Robertson, Albert Robertson, Travis Robertson, Amanda Wood, Joshua Wood and Bob Howe.
