Eleanor Palmer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Eleanor Novella Turner Palmer, daughter of Otis Lloyd and Zula Wills Turner, was born April 24, 1917, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, December 5, 2015, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-eight years, seven months, and eleven days.
On August 21, 1937, she was united in marriage to Dooley Edgar Palmer, Jr. and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Conrad Lloyd Palmer; three brothers, Lloyd, Henry, and Worley Turner; and a sister, Josephine Gannon.
Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of seventy-eight years, Dooley, of the home; a son, Pat Palmer, and his wife, Shirley, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Palmer, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Stephen, Tammy, Amanda, Dennis, and Misty; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Phillipsburg community and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. After she and Dooley were married, they made their home on their farm near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their sons. Eleanor was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and she and Dooley owned Palmer Motors and Implement Company. She and Dooley also raised Registered Angus cattle for a number of years.
Eleanor was a longtime member of White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Lebanon.
She lived a private and quiet life and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her home. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-eight years.
Memorial donations may be made to the White Oak Pond Cemetery or St. Judes Children's Hospital, and left at the funeral home.
