Eleanor "Jean" West (Seymour)'s Obituary
Eleanor “Jean” West, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in her home surrounded by family. She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, on October 26, 1941, to Joseph H. and Eleanor Mae (McFarland) Jones.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by grandson, Mathew James Gast.
Jean, as she was known to her family and friends, leaves behind four children; son, Joseph Johnson and wife, Tammie, of Pierpont, Ohio; daughters, Christina Strong and husband, Jimmie; Roberta Terrill and husband, Donnie; and Daniel Johnson and wife Linsey, all of Seymour, Missouri; grandchildren Tiffanie, Regina, Courtney, Brandi, Kayla, Lacy, Danielle, Brandon and Clint; great-grandchildren Dixie, Matthew, Madisyn, Kinsley, Payton, Hunter, Bentley, and two more on the way; her sister Joanne Rocco and husband Al, of Geneva, Ohio, as well as several other family members and dear friends.
Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and doing genealogy online. She had worked at Trans Plastics in Ohio, and spent time as a waitress and a caretaker in an adult handicap group home. She will be dearly missed by many.
Jean wish was for cremation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 11:00am at Seymour Freewill Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
