In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Eleanore worked at the Montgomery Ward Store in Lebanon, where in a short time she became the store manager. She left that job in the late 1970’s, and helped her son Michael in the Lebanon Mobile Sales business by doing his bookkeeping. Eventually, Eleanore and Farrel moved to St. Louis, where Eleanore worked as a student loan officer at United Postal Savings and Loan for a few years. Later, after retiring, they returned to Lebanon where they made their home during the warm months, and wintered in Texas. Eleanore was a member of the Red Hat Society in Springfield, Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She also was a wonderfully gifted pianist. While spending their winters in Texas, she and Farrel loved to go fishing and always seemed to catch the biggest fish.
