Elizabeth A. Alford (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Alford, daughter of Herbert and Mabel Dalyrample Keesling, was born December 18, 1937, near Rader, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in Glendale Gardens Care Facility, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, two months, and twenty-two days.
On October 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to Glenn Eugene Alford, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-four years, Glenn, on March 17, 2020; a brother, Freeman Keesling; and a sister, Virginia Lewis.
Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Patricia Crenshaw, and her husband, Tom, of St. Charles, Missouri; two grandsons, Jeffrey Crenshaw, and his wife, Carrie, and Andrew Crenshaw, all of St. Charles, Missouri; a great-grandson, Colt Crenshaw; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised in the Rader community and graduated from Conway High School in the Class of 1955. After she and Glenn were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their daughter. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Elizabeth also worked as a teller for the First National Bank in Lebanon. Through the years, the bank changed its names and became Boatman’s Bank and later, Bank of America. Elizabeth continued to work at the bank until retiring as a Senior Teller.
Elizabeth was raised in the Rader Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon. She was active in all phases of church life through the years.
In her spare time she enjoyed baking, and liked taking care of her family and her home. She had many friends and enjoyed visiting with them. Her family was very precious to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Elizabeth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, with Rev. David Oberdieck officiating. Burial will be in Rader Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Memorial donations to the Rader Cemetery may be made through the funeral home.
