Elizabeth "Ann" Pursley (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Pursley, age 84, passed away in her home, surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, August 19, 2017, in Springfield, MO.
Ann was born in Dunnegan, MO, the daughter of James Willard Hopkins and Edna Flossie Wollard Hopkins. She married the love of her life, Carl Clay Pursley, on April 26, 1952, who preceded her in death. They shared their loving and loyal son together, Carl Steven Pursley, who was the light of their lives. Ann retired after 22 years with General Electric in Springfield. She also worked prior to that in Bolivar at Beaman Insurance Agency, followed by 5 years at Sears in Springfield.
Ann was also preceded in death by her brother Berl and his wife Fern, her brother Oren and his wife Wilba, and her brother Bruce. She is survived by her son Steven, of Springfield, MO, her brother Kenneth and his wife Rosemarie in Nixa, MO, her sister-in-law JoAnne Hopkins, in Bolivar, MO, a host of loving nieces and nephews and their children, and a long time and very loving friend, JoAnna White. She is also survived by a loving Aunt, Grace Pursley of Bolivar, MO
Ann lived a Christian life, never forgetting her faith in God. She was a wonderful mother and friend to so many, cherished by all who knew her. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips with her family and close friends. She loved entertaining, and most enjoyed welcoming the people she cared for into her home. She will be missed dearly.
Ann’s family would like to thank Brooke Sutton and her company, Sutton In Home Senior Care, for the compassionate and attentive care extended to Ann during her last week. It was much appreciated.
