Elizabeth "Ann" Gifford (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Elizabeth “Ann” Gifford passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at Big Spring Care Center in Humansville, Missouri. She was 76 years old. Born on March 23, 1949, to Clyde and Mildred “Bobbie” Gifford, Ann was a long time resident of Bolivar, Missouri. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and moved to Bolivar as a teenager. Ann graduated from Bolivar High School and remained in Bolivar throughout her adult life working as a seamstress at the Garment Factory, Tub Buddies Puppet Factory and LGK & Sons Upholstery. Ann was a unique spirit—fiercely funny, unapologetically herself, and always ready with a joke or prank to catch you off guard. Her quick wit and playful nature made her unforgettable. To know Ann was to laugh—often and unexpectedly. Her three nieces knew this better than anyone, as she lovingly gave them a “hard time” every chance she got. She had a deep love for animals—often preferring their company to that of most people—and it was clear the feeling was mutual. Whether it was a stray cat or a neighbor’s dog, animals seemed to know they were safe and loved in Ann’s presence. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bobbie Gifford, and by her beloved sister-in-law and favorite person, Debbie Gifford. She is survived by her brothers, John Gifford and Tim Gifford (and wife Alice). She leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Jennifer Earl (and husband Rick), Kristy Beck (and husband Harry), Kimberly Cornell (and husband Al), Tim Gifford, and Mike Gifford. She was a proud great-aunt to Jacob Earl, Todd Earl (and wife Jess), Trey Jenkins, Kody Jenkins (and wife Kali), Gavin Cornell, and Madison Cornell—as well as a treasured great-great-aunt to many more. Ann’s laughter, love for animals, and spirited personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her. At Ann’s request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter in Ann’s memory. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ann Gifford please visit our Sympathy Store. Details are pending.
