Elizabeth Harris (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Choate Harris, 72, of Bolivar passed away on Independence Day, July 4, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri.
Known as Peggy to her childhood family and friends, she was born on June 22, 1948 to Ben and Wilma (Vanzandt) Choate. She lived the biggest part of her life in Bolivar, except for short periods of time in Nebraska and Oklahoma. Elizabeth attended all 12 years of school in Bolivar, graduating from high school in 1966. She worked as a waitress for Lina Serls, at Teter’s Factory, and for Citizens Memorial Health Care, retiring in 2010 after 25 years of service.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Choate.
She is survived by four daughters, Wilma (Jim) Jones. Paula (Ronnie Wilson) Neill, Debbie Duryee, and Wendy (Carl Bayer, Jr.) Heymer; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was saved one November in a revival at Pleasant Hill Church held by Dennis Spears and Wib Foster. She joined the church and remained a member.
A Graveside Funeral will be held for Elizabeth at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar. Friends & relatives are invited to a Visitation with the family one hour prior to the service at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
