After she and Robert were married, they made their home in the Mexico, Missouri area where Libby worked as a waitress at the family owned Saddlehorse Café for several years. She and Robert also owned and operated a gift shop near Bagnell Dam, in Lake Ozark, Missouri, for a few years. Later, after the family moved to O’Fallon, Missouri, Libby worked as a secretary at the Fort Zumwalt High School. Throughout the years, she was always a devoted homemaker and loving wife and mother. In 1986, Libby and Robert retired and moved to rural Lebanon, Missouri, to enjoy fishing and being outdoors at Bennett Spring State Park. In 2008, Libby moved to Fall Creek, Wisconsin, to be near her son, Steve, and his family. Libby was a member and active volunteer at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon. She also was heavily involved in starting and maintaining the Fisherman’s Chapel at Bennett Spring. She enjoyed nature and all animals and spent many hours of enjoyment feeding the many hummingbirds and deer that returned every year to her home near Bennett Springs. She also loved her pets over the years, and was especially devoted to her cats, Smokey and BC (Black Cat). Throughout the years, she formed many friendships and particularly appreciated her close friend, Marlys, who was a special help and encouragement to her during her later years.
