Elizabeth Jane Srotyr (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elizabeth Jane Srotyr, daughter of William and Ann Siegler Vesely, was born March 18, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this life Friday, May 4, 2012, in her home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, one month, and sixteen days.
On September 12, 1964, she was united in marriage to Edward Henry Srotyr, and to this union one daughter was born.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Jane is survived by her husband, Edward, of the home; a daughter, Debbie DiFonzo, and her husband, Ray, of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Ashley and Tony; two brothers, Tom Vesely, and his wife, Ginny, of Hinckley, Illinois, and Ray Vesely, and his wife, Sue, of Lisle, Illinois; a sister, Pat Hogan, of Hinckley, Illinois; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Lisle, Illinois area and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. After she and Edward were married, they made their home in Lisle, Illinois, and lovingly raised their daughter. Throughout the years, Jane was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 1998, the family moved to the Phillipsburg, Missouri community and made their home. Jane was active in the Conway Senior Center, the Phillipsburg Food Pantry, and served on the Phillipsburg Community Development Council.
Jane was raised in the Catholic church and followed that faith throughout her life.
In her spare time she enjoyed working in her garden, growing beautiful flowers, and cooking. She loved bird watching and was particularly fond of cardinals, hummingbirds, and orioles. She enjoyed going to the Branson, Missouri area, for shopping, browsing and seeing the shows. Her family was always the center of her life and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them.
