Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Palmer (Seymour)'s Obituary
Liz Palmer, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt departed this earthly life with family at her side the evening of Saturday, October 5, 2019, at her home in Diggins, Missouri. She was fifty-six years, ten months and three days young.
The youngest of four children, she was born Elizabeth Ann Palmer on December 2, 1962, in Marshfield, Missouri, to Willie and Ramona Jean (Wiley) Palmer. Liz grew up in Diggins and attended Seymour schools. She was a graduate of the Seymour High School Class of 1981.
Upon graduating, she began work at H.D. Lee in Seymour and worked there for fifteen years before taking a job at Uvanta (now Omnicare) in Springfield, where she was trained to become a pharmacy technician. Liz was a loyal employee for fifteen years before moving on to Guardian Pharmacy in Springfield where she worked for the past seven years. Liz was the model employee every employer hoped for – faithful, reliable and dedicated on every level. Liz worked the shifts no one else wanted and always volunteered to cover holidays and vacations for her fellow co-workers. She truly loved her work and cared about her patients’ well-being.
Liz was also deeply devoted to her fur babies. She was a very loving mommy to several cats and kittens and could never turn away a stray, but a few were extra special to her – Sweetie, Cleo, Suzy, Max, Sammy, Fred and Sherbert.
In addition to her grandparents, Liz was preceded in death by her father, Willie, and brother, William Palmer.
Liz leaves behind her dear mother, Ramona, of the home; her brother, John and Jeanne Palmer, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, and sister, Barbara and Larry Owens, of Seymour; a niece, Crystal and Gary Fore, of Rogersville, Missouri, and nephew, Jeffrey and Julia Palmer of Gainesboro, Tennessee; a great-niece, Courtney Fore of Rogersville, and two great-nephews, Owen Fore of Rogersville, and Kaden Palmer of Sparta, Tennessee.
Liz always had a smile on her face. Though quiet, she was always ready for a good joke and a laugh. Liz was a sweet spirit with a big heart. She has left us much too soon, but there is comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain or suffering. Liz found peace on Sunday, September 22, 2019, when she was baptized in her home. Liz found peace again on Saturday, October 5, when she passed on to her heavenly home.
Funeral services for Elizabeth "Liz" Palmer will be Thursday, Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel in Seymour. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 10 from 1 p.m. until service time.
Burial will be held at a later date.
