Elizabeth Whittenburg (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elizabeth Whittenburg, daughter of Peter and Rady Welty Ramban, was born September 18, 1912, in Parma, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in Chestnut Terrace, in St. Peters, Missouri, at the age of one hundred three years, six months, and five days.
In 1972, she was united in marriage to Newell J. Whittenburg who preceded her in death on February 9, 1979.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.
Elizabeth is survived by several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren; a niece; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Dexter, Missouri area. After the tragic death of her father, she was raised by Benjamin and Florence (Miller) Young. In 1940, she moved to Lebanon and made her home. She had worked as a calligrapher for the railroad for several years, and then worked at various jobs as a sales clerk. After she and Newell were married, Elizabeth was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Elizabeth professed her faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime member of Lebanon Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed the fellowship her church offered.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and working in her garden. Elizabeth was a sweet, little lady that loved her family dearly and cherished her friends. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
