Ellen J Brown (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ellen Justine Brown, daughter of Clarence Dale and Agnes Sandstrum Evans, was born September 16, 1927, in Los Angeles, California. She departed this life Monday, May 5, 2014, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, seven months, and nineteen days.
On June 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to James Elwood “Jim” Brown, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim, on September 28, 2013; a son, James R. “Bob” Brown; and two sisters, Myrtle Roys, and Frances Gartner.
Ellen is survived by a daughter, Dale Renee Lyerla, and her husband, Gary, of Florissant, Missouri; a grandson, John Russell, of Florissant, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in California, and lived in Los Angeles and Palm Dale. After she and Jim were married, they made their home in Palm Dale for several years. In 1957, the family moved to Missouri, and made their home in the St. Louis area. Ellen was always a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, and also worked as a school bus driver for the Ferguson/Florissant R-II Schools for a number of years. Later, Ellen and Jim retired and moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
In her spare time, Ellen enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing Pinnacle. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren.
Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-six years.
