Elsie M. Ware (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elsie Mae Ware, daughter of Robert H. and Jessie Decker Detherage, was born May 21, 1941, near Oakland, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, November 28, 2022, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, five months, and seven days.
On November 9, 1957, she was united in marriage to Richard Dale Ware, and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; eight brothers, Paul, Herman, George, Lilburn, Dale, Alvie, Leonard, and Robert Detherage; and two sisters, Mayebelle Decker, and Lillie Hough.
Elsie is survived by two sons, Mike Ware, and his wife, Jeannie, and Warren Ware, and his significant other, Pam, all of Phillipsburg, Missouri; four grandchildren, Marvin, Nikki, Brittany, and C.J.; six great-grandchildren, Mandy, Jesse, Kennedy, Bella, Johnse, and Hunter; three brothers, Roger Detherage, of Marshfield, Missouri, Carl Detherage, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Garry Detherage, of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Bonnie Lee, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Virginia Little, of Radar, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Oakland community. After she and Richard were married, they made their home in the Long Lane area where she and Richard owned a farm. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and sons and also helped on the farm and did professional housekeeping for several years.
She liked gardening and loved reading while enjoying a good cup of coffee. She also liked taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She centered her life around her family.
Elsie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made with them during her eighty-one years.
A memorial has been established to New Hope Cemetery and donations may be made through the funeral home.
