Elta Lucille Roberts (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Elta Lucille Roberts, age 83 of Bolivar passed away in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 after a short illness.
Lucille was born on March 9, 1928 in Morrisville, MO the daughter of Homer Harold Wakefield and Ethel Belle (Jones) Wakefield.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar.
Lucille and James Clark Roberts were united in marriage on December 23, 1944 in Bolivar, MO and to this union two children were born, their son Jim and daughter Carol.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clark on March 13, 2009, her parents, her sister, Louise Bacon and two brothers, Eldon Wakefield and Jones Wakefield.
Lucille was a member of the Bolivar Golf Club for 50 plus years. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her many friends. She was very much an outside person and loved her flowers and trees in her back yard.
Surviving are her son Jim Roberts and wife Kay of Springfield, MO, her daughter Carol Estes and Jay Borges of Springfield, MO; Also her 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Estes, Cody Estes, Shanna Fishel, Rochelle Puryear and Laurie Robertson. And her 6 Great Grandchildren, Max Fishel, Elsie Estes, Abbi Puryear, Nate Puryear, Landon Estes and Callyn Robertson,
A Memorial Service for Lucille will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Erven officiating. Musical Selections will be “In The Garden” by Billy Dean & Susan Ashton, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill and “Amazing Grace-My Chains Are Gone” by Chris Tomlin. Also a DVD presentation of Lucille’s life will be shown with musical selection “I Can Only Imagine” By Mercy Me. Lucille and Clark will be interred in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, MO after the memorial service.
