Elva "Kaye" Brinkmeyer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elva “Kaye” Brinkmeyer of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in her home. She was born September 4, 1943 in Camden County, Missouri to Homer Collins and Elsie “Essie” Chalfant Collins. At the time of her passing, she was seventy-nine years, eight months and thirteen days old.
Kaye was raised in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks and graduated from Licking High School. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she worked as an accounting secretary and met her future husband, Reide Brinkmeyer. They worked together and were married in 1968. They lovingly raised their two sons, Eddie and Gary. Following their retirement in 1991, they moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church and dearly loved her church group. She enjoyed hosting parties and entertaining in her home. Christmas was her absolute favorite time of year. She thoroughly enjoyed decorating every year. Kaye also liked to make quilts and was a supporter of the Republican Women’s Party. After she and Reide retired, they enjoyed traveling all over the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reide, in 2012, and her son, Gary; and her brothers, Eddie, Roger, Carl and Dean; a sister, Norma Jean.
Kaye is survived by her son, Eddie of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Estella Faye “Honey Bee” Scurlock and her husband, Pete, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Imey Collins; four grandchildren, Justin Oser, Daniel Brinkmeyer, Natalie Brinkmeyer and Stanley Brinkmeyer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kaye was a delightful lady who loved being with her family. She enjoyed her friends and her church family. She will be missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her.
