Elva Richmond's Obituary
Elva E. Richmond, the daughter of Benny “Babe” and Martha Nance Walker, was born September 27, 1915 near Brixey, Missouri and departed this life on August 22, 2009 in Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mtn. Grove, Missouri at the age of ninety-three years, ten months and twenty- five days. She was preceded in death by her parents and a special friend, Clifford Berry. Elva is survived by two daughters, Lydia June Calhoun of Goodlettsville, Tennessee and Teresa Savage of Whitehouse, Tennessee; two sons, Bill Pool of Nashville, Tennessee and James Spence of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bentley Walker of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Elva was raised and lived almost all of her life in the Mtn. Grove area. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a member of the Church of Christ in Mtn. Grove. She was a homemaker but was a hard worker and stayed very active with outdoor work, especially gardening. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting and dancing, but what she really loved to do was turkey hunt. She hunted turkeys into her late 80’s until her health began to decline. Elva was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday August 24, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Mansfield. Burial will be in the Eaton Cemetery under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Mansfield, Missouri. Return to top
