Elva Ruble's Obituary
Elva Jane Ruble, daughter of Tom and Disa Holt Stewart, was born April 13, 1921, near Anderson, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, January 1, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eight months, and eighteen days. On July 23, 1936, she was united in marriage to Earnest Albert Ruble, and to this union five daughters and three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earnest, on January 16, 1964; an infant daughter, Glenda Sue Ruble; four brothers; and two sisters. Elva is survived by four daughters, Loretta Blain, and her husband, Donnie, Shirley Garner, and her husband, Tom, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Carol Wiley, and her husband, Danny, and Lena Fisher, all of Kansas City, Missouri; three sons, Eugene Ruble, and his wife, Matha, Junior Ruble, and his wife, Mary, and Dennis Ruble, and his wife, Brenda, all of Kansas City, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Anderson, of Webster City, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Anderson, Missouri, and then moved with her family to Lebanon, when she was a small child. After she and Earnest were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Elva was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Shortly after Earnest passed away, Elva moved to Kansas City and lived their until returning to Lebanon about ten years ago. Elva had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Pentecostal faith. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Kansas City, and had attended Harvest Tabernacle since returning to Lebanon. In her spare time she was an avid reader, and liked caring for her family and her home. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elva was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
