Elvin Eugene Meese (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Elvin Eugene “Gene” Meese, 98, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Colonial Springs Healthcare Facility in Buffalo, MO. Gene was born in Springfield, MO on September 11, 1927 to Milo C. and Lora (Keller) Meese. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1948 and lived 40 years in Kansas City and retired from Mid-Am Dairy. In 1950, Gene married Violet Louise Imhoff and to this union two children were born, Patricia Mae Finnerty and Paul W. Meese. In 1979, he married Dorothy Reynolds Carpenter. His faith was strong as a member of The Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Meese; son, Paul W. Meese and three brothers. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Patricia Finnerty of Olathe, KS; two step-children, Connie Huff and Allen Carpenter; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 9:30 AM until service time at 10:00 AM in Butler Funeral Home Bolivar. Burial will follow at Sentinel Cemetery, Polk County, MO.
