Elza "Wayne" McGuire (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elza Wayne McGuire, son of Delmar W. and Annie Elizabeth Jennings McGuire, was born June 10, 1951, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, November 3, 2019, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, four months, and twenty-four days.
On April 30, 1988, he was united in marriage to Anita Faye Huntington, and they shared the last thirty-one years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Elza Berry; a brother, Donald McGuire; and a sister, Cloveta Johnson.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Anita, of the home; four daughters, Lori Dibben, and her husband, Scott, Elizabeth Berry, and her husband, Justin, Mary Jo Burns, and her husband, Darrell, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Samantha Stahl, of Fulton, Missouri; ten grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Junior Dale McGuire, and his wife, Pam, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Jessica West, and her husband, Monty, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area. He continued to live near Lebanon for most of his life, except for a brief time he made his home in Kansas. He worked at the Ozark Fish Hatchery for many years, and then owned and operated a garage for several years. He and Anita made their home in Lebanon for the last few years.
Wayne had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith throughout the years.
In his spare time he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He also liked playing pool. He participated in the Laclede County Fair truck pulls for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and especially liked having time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime. A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.
