Emery Allen Savage (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Emery Allen Savage, son of William Emery and Jessie Francis Anthony Savage, was born June 28, 1935, in Pacific, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, June 1, 2013, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, eleven months, and three days.
On June 30, 1956, he was united in marriage to Eugenia Lee Tweed, and to this union two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Chase Savage; a sister, Anna May Bingham; and a brother-in-law, Manuel Bingham.
Emery is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty-six years, Eugenia, of the home; two sons, Neal A. Savage, and his wife, Peggy, and Emery Gene Savage, and his wife, Kathy, all of Lebanon, Missouri; Georgie Wooldridge, and her husband, Robert, of Ozark, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cody, Chelsie, and Stefanie; three great-grandchildren, Gabe, Hannah, and Finley; two brothers, William “Bill” Savage, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Stanley Savage, of Stockton, Missouri; two sisters, Janice Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Donna McCord, of the State of Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and good friends.
He was raised in the Oakland community, in Laclede County, Missouri, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1951. After he and Eugenia were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their sons. Emery had a long career with Independent Stave Company where he worked as a knife grinder for over forty years, before retiring.
He was an outdoorsman with a great love for nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and liked raising coon hounds. He was a very quiet and soft spoken man who was always willing to help others. He was a highly regarded gentleman that loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Emery was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them throughout the years.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lebanon Humane Society or Hough Chapel
Cemetery, and left at the funeral home.
