Emily Sue Doty (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Emily Sue Doty was 77 and Born on March 31st 1948 in Buffalo Missouri to Edna Roberts and Earn Roberts and departed this life on September 2nd 2025. Sue was united in marriage on November 19, 1965 to Kenneth “Kenny” Doty and to this union they had one daughter Sheila Davies. Sue was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and played the piano on Sunday until her health would not let her attend any longer. Sue was the assessor for 16 years in Dallas County, where she made many friends. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Doty; her parents, Edna and Earn Roberts; and one brother-in-law, Larry Penny. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Davies & husband Bryan of Buffalo, MO; two granddaughters, Stephanie Bailey & husband Spencer of Conway MO and Sharon Sneed & husband Wyatt of Dadeville MO; a very dear friend who she loved very much, Leland Cooper of Elkland MO; her siblings, Lou Hood & husband Frank of Independence MO, Faye Penny of Blue Springs MO, Ray Roberts & wife Janice of Marshall MO, and Roy Roberts & wife Debbie of Wheatland, MO; and two great-grandchildren, Sutton and Shaylee Bailey. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her greatly. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Skinner officiating. Escorts will be Timothy Roberts, Stephen Roberts, Tony Middleton, Todd Middleton, Lance Doty, and Dale Doty. Honorary Escorts will be Sutton Bailey, Shaylee Bailey, Troy Penny, Colton Camacho, Wyatt Sneed, and Spencer Bailey. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.
