Emma C Dewalt (Hartville)'s Obituary
Emma Corabell De Walt, daughter of George and Alice Wilson Andoe, was born October 10, 1932 in Kenwood County, Oklahoma. She departed this life early Monday morning, February 20, 2017, in her home just outside of Hartville, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, four months, and 10 days.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ida Williams, Ester Badger, and Peggy Leonard; and one brother, Joe Andoe.
Emma is survived by her significant other of thirty-one years, Dennis Howey; two daughters, Carol Simons and her husband Marty, of Gibraltar, Michigan and Karen Castle and her husband Larry, of Hartville, Missouri; three brothers, George Andoe and his wife Marlene, Mose Andoe and his wife Deloris, and Frank Andoe; one sister, Eunice Black and her husband Wayne; six grandchildren, Autumn, Jamie, Amber, Kyle, Lakyn, and Kevin, eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Emma was born and raised near Jay, Oklahoma and graduated from Jay High School in 1951. A couple years later she moved to Michigan and began working for Michigan Bell as a frame operator. She worked for the company for over thirty years before finally retiring. Dennis and Emma would eventually move to Hartville in 2004 and have been here ever since. Emma was baptized at a young age and often attended White Dove Church.
Emma loved to cook and bake for her family, never letting them go hungry. She would also be seen out tending to her garden or nestled up reading a good book. Emma also enjoyed taking walks in the morning or evening. But none of these came close to playing with her grandchildren or spending time with her loving family.
Emma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and many accomplishments and will always cherish the many wonderful memories she helped create.
