Emma Maxine Lindsey (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Miss Emma Maxine Lindsey, daughter of Ralph and Ida (Cofer) Lindsey, was born on February 13, 1932, and departed this life on January 13, 2023, at Colonial Springs Healthcare in Buffalo, Missouri. She was at the time of her passing 90 years and 11 months old.
Maxine grew up in Dallas County and attended Buffalo Schools, then furthered her education attending Southwest Missouri State and Drury Universities. She enjoyed many years of teaching in the Springfield Public Schools system, making her life work teaching young minds. After retiring she moved back to Buffalo and took residency at Colonial Springs Healthcare, where she lived very happily for many years.
Maxine became a member of the First Christian Church in Buffalo when she was a young girl and although not able to attend, she continued to enquire and support the ministry. She was a faithful participant in Bible studies and worship services at Colonial Springs. She enjoyed helping others and was very caring and loving to other residents. Never having children of her own, Maxine enjoyed and nurtured all the children she taught through her teaching career.
Maxine was a shy, giving, caring, and loving woman. She will be missed by many, particularly her beloved brother Carroll, who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Pauline Lindsey. She is survived by her brother, Carroll Lindsey also of Colonial Springs Healthcare in Buffalo, Missouri, and a number of cousins and friends.
Graveside services for Maxine will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo. Services will be under the care and direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home and with Rev. Jennifer Long officiating.
