Emmalynn Ann Helms (Seymour)'s Obituary
Emmalynn Ann Helms, precious baby girl of Travis and Jessica Helms, was born into this world on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. They stayed at Emma’s side for every breath and moment of her ten inspiring, gentle, and loving days on this earth.
On Sunday, March 28, 2021, in Cardinal-Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, Emma’s brave battle for life earned her the wings of an angel and she departed this life for Heaven. Emma was greeted by her paternal grandfather Steve Helms, and paternal great-grandfather Lloyd McCormack. Along with her parents, those left to treasure Emma’s memory are her big brother Brantley Helms; maternal grandparents Jerry and Laurie Roark of Wheatland, Missouri, paternal grandmother Janice Helms, and paternal great-grandmother Katheryn McCormack – both of Seymour, Missouri; aunts and uncles, David and Tammy Helms, Bill and Becky Sturdefant, Gary Helms and Missy, Kenny Helms and Nicole, Ryan and Shelby Helms, Trey and Crystal Roark, Travis Roark, and Madison Roark; numerous cousins and extended family.
Thank you all for being here today. The love and support we have received from all of our friends and family has helped significantly in getting us through this hard time. Emma was my first born and I will never forget that day, as scary and overwhelming as it was, getting to meet her was one of the happiest moments of my life. She was an angel and a gift from heaven. Her strength was inspirational and I’m proud to call myself her mommy. The moment I held her in my arms I knew I would do anything for her. It is unfair that our daughter was taken away from us after ten short days. But, here we are today with great sadness that we say goodbye to our sweet baby girl. Although she was born prematurely at twenty nine weeks our sweet girl was such a fighter. She had everyone wrapped around her little fingers. Her big gorgeous eyes melted many hearts and her cute little smile had us mesmerized. There is no easy way to say goodbye. We can’t dwell on the sadness or keep asking “why?” We will never find a reason why such a sweet, innocent, beautiful baby was taken from us. Instead, we should focus on how happy she made us in her short time here with us. We will miss our sweet Emma forever and will always remember her big beautiful eyes and how much happiness she brought to us. My Sweet Emma, you are more beautiful than I had ever imagined you could be and you were much too perfect for this often-cruel world.
Graveside services will be Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM, at Seymour Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, Missouri.
