Eric Leochner's Obituary
Eric Linn Leochner, son of Leslie A. Jr., and Merlene Linn McKean Leochner was born September 12, 1975, in Scott City, Kansas. He departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2006, in his home at the age of thirty-one years, and twenty days. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his maternal grandfather, Merle McKean. Eric is survived by his son, Austin; his father, Leslie A. Leochner, Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; a sister, Michelle Neuroth, and her husband, Sean, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Cuba; one step-brother, Chad Volker, of Keewatin, Minnesota; one step-sister, Tracie Cesar, of Branson, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Delphia McKean, of Manhattan, Kansas; paternal grandparents, Leslie A. Sr., and Ruby Leochner, of Ludell, Kansas; two nephews, Cullen and Aiden Neuroth; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was born into a military family living in Italy, Connecticut, Tennessee, and Florida during his childhood years. While in Florida, he was a member of the Pee-Wee Football team, which became state champions. Later his family moved to Lebanon, Missouri where he graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1993. He enjoyed sports, especially football and wrestling while in high school. For the last ten years, he had been employed with the W.D. Waterman Insurance Agency. He had followed the Lutheran faith throughout his life and had made his peace with the Lord. Eric was an avid bowler, participating in tournament bowling. He worked the races at the I-44 Speedway and collected Mustang cars, owning a 1969 Mustang. He possessed a magnetic personality and always had a smile for everyone. His life was centered on his son and he enjoyed assisting the coach of Austin’s Mitey Mites team, the Rams. He was a loving father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and cousin and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories that he has made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct 6, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial to Austin's education has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
