Eric Oesterreicher's Obituary
Eric Oesterreicher, son of Peter and Walli Braeuer Oesterreicher, was born February 23, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday, February 24, 2011, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, and one day.
On April 16, 1976, he was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Dudley, and to this union three daughters and one son were born.
His father preceded him in death.
Eric is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Wanda, of the home;
three daughters, Christa Record, and her husband, Matt, of Lebanon, Missouri, Heidi Morgan, and Eric?s favorite non-son-in-law, Dale Roberts, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Erica Oesterreicher, and her fianc?, T. J. Biles, of Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri; a son, Derek Oesterreicher, of Falcon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan, Trenton, Zack, Haylee, and Logan; his mother, Walli Oesterreicher, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a brother, Paul Oesterreicher, and his wife, Linda, of Doniphan, Missouri; three sisters, Rita Osborn, and her husband, Ron, of Marshfield, Missouri, Monica Goin, and her husband, Butch, of Ozark, Missouri, and Kathy Osborn, and her husband, Dannie, of Macks Creek, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and was raised in Indiana and California, before the family moved to Hartville, Missouri, where he graduated from Hartville High School. For the next few years, he worked as a dairy farmer in the Hartville area. After he and Wanda were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and Eric worked for Detroit Tool Company for thirteen years. The family then moved to the rural area between Falcon and Grovespring and made their home. Eric worked as a heavy equipment operator for several years, and then later, worked as a mechanic. He also operated Eric?s Weld and Repair for as long as his health allowed.
Eric was raised in the Catholic faith. He helped take care of several friends during their elder years and was always willing to help someone or share a meal.
In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, and watching old western movies, particularly John Wayne movies. He also had a fondness for old cars and airplanes. He had an outgoing personality and never knew a stranger. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Eric was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
