Erma Couch (Lebanon) 's Obituary
Erma Lee Couch, daughter of Hershel and Marie Pinkston Ingram, was born June 5, 1936, in Hoxie, Arkansas. She departed this life Friday, June 20, 2014, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, and fifteen days.
On April 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles Couch, and to this union two daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wesley; and two sisters, Rosena and Shirley.
Erma is survived by her husband of sixty years, Charles, of the home; two daughters, Debbie Waterman, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Dianne McCleary, and her husband, Eddie, of Ava, Missouri; three sons, Gary Couch, of Lebanon, Missouri, David Couch, and his wife, Joni, of New Liberty, Iowa, and Chuck Couch, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; a sister, Vada Ruth Sweeny, of the State of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Hoxie, Arkansas. After she and Charles were married, they made their home in Rockford, Illinois for sixteen years before moving to Lebanon. Throughout the years, Erma was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her husband and family.
Erma had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Happy Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, and always liked working crossword puzzles. She and Charles also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball games on television. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Erma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-eight years.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, and left at the funeral home.
