Esta Wheeler's Obituary
Esta Zela Wheeler, daughter of Sam and Lillie Herod Goss, was born June 19, 1920, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life on December 5, 2009, in St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, five months and sixteen days. She was united in marriage to Jack Wheeler and to this union one son was born. Jack preceded her in death on March 10, 1982. Esta was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roy, Glen and J.C. Goss; two sisters, Eula Darrow and Pauline Chambers. She is survived by her son, Danny Wheeler and his wife Janice of Duncanville, Texas; a sister, Inabelle Lowrance of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cheri Biddy and her husband Jeff, William Ely and his wife Susan, Jessica Ely and Justin Ely; three great-grandchildren, Arden Biddy, Sheridan Biddy and Matthew Hudson all of Dallas, Texas; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Esta was born in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School. She spent most of her life in Mansfield where she was a loving wife and devoted homemaker. She had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield First Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and crocheting. Esta was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for us. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 11, 2009 at the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening 5-7:00 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Mansfield, Missouri. Return to top
