Esther M. Goss (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Esther Marie Goss, daughter of John and Bertha Armagost Rush, was born June 12, 1921 in
Seymour, Missouri and departed this life on May 6, 2015 in Glendale Gardens Nursing and
Rehab in Springfield, Missouri at the age of ninety-three years, ten months, and twenty-four
days.
She was united in marriage to Roy Goss and to this union two sons were born. She was
preceded in death by Roy on June 27, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents;
three brothers, Walter, Frank and Jack Rush; two sisters, Pearl Glenn and Warren Dalton.
Esther is survived by her sons, Larry Goss and wife, Kim of Fremont Hills, Missouri and Bobby
Goss and wife, Robin of Springfield, Missouri; five granddaughters, Courtney Sweeden, Lindsay
Douglas, Michelle Carder, Stephanie Gainor and Brittany Reuthebuck; one grandson, Tyler
Reuthebuck; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Doris Rush and Inabelle Lowrance
both of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was born in Seymour and attended the Lone Star School. After marriage she and Roy
made their home in Mansfield where she worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory for 26 years
before retiring. She lived all of her life in the Seymour and Mansfield area until moving to
Springfield a few years ago to be closer to Bobby and Larry and their families.
Esther had made a profession of faith in Christ in her mid 30’s and had attended different
churches throughout her life. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and
reading.
Esther was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a caring neighbor
and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many wonderful times we had
together.
