Esther Olson's Obituary
Esther Edzards Olson, daughter of John O. and Grace “Katie” Buseman Edzards, was born June 23, 1920, in Emery, South Dakota. She departed this life Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at her home, near Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eleven months, and fourteen days. On March 14, 1941, in Yuma, Arizona, she was united in marriage to Francis M. Olson, and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis, on May 31, 1987; two brothers; and two sisters. Esther is survived by her daughter, Julie Olson, of Camdenton, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and friends. She was born and raised in Emery, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school. She then attended nursing school in South Dakota and became a Registered Nurse. After marrying Francis in 1941, they made their home in California for many years, and lovingly raised their daughter. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, Esther also worked as a nurse until the age of seventy-seven. In 1985, the family moved to Camdenton, Missouri and made their home. Esther had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Christian Church in Camdenton. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and also was a gifted and talented artist and painter. Esther was a loving mother and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, in Allee Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to Missouri River Hospice may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
